Responsibility

MARGOT works primarily with European suppliers and manufacturers – everything is according to EU standards as it means good and humane working conditions for employees.

All MARGOT textiles & tights are at least ÖKO-Tex 100 certified, which means you can be certain that the article has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless in human ecological terms.

In addition, we work with GOTS-certified textiles, which are 100% organic and stand for the Global Organic Textile Standard. GOTS is the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.

Literally, MARGOT produces no more than what is pre-ordered from the dealers. This is to reduce huge inventory, mass production and wastage.
Not least, to be true to the concept we have always tried to maintain that you can feel special and unique in a MARGOT.

MARGOT do not want to use unnecessary packaging as it is important for us to focus on the environment. Therefore, when the shops receive deliveries from us, they will find that the individual styles aren’t wrapped in any packaging.*

*There may be small exceptions, like accessories.

MARGOT also focuses on minimizing textile waste. We do not like waste of textiles so we try to find ways to turn waste into new resources.
For example, you may occasionally find some textiles in pockets, linings, edges or other details on your MARGOT which are re-uses from previous seasons styles.
In this connection, sometimes we have “STOP textile waste” campaigns with unique styles only in a few pieces. Made in our own “waste” textiles.

In addition, we have only one physical catalog, which has both the SVANEMÆRKET and the FSC label. The SVANEMÆRKET is the official Nordic Ecolabel. It is the official sustainability ecolabel for products from the Nordic countries.
More info you can find here: https://www.ecolabel.dk/da

The FSC label stands for Forest Stewardship Council, which gives customers the option to choose forest products like paper and wood that have been sourced in an environmentally-friendly, socialle responsible and economically viable manner.
